My toy paintings mix the mundane with the sacred, kitsch with classical realism that is both an homage and satire of the past and present. Using cheap vinyl toys as stand-ins for live models, I create narratives from compositional dichotomies as well as from my own life experiences, posing questions on the value and meaning of humanist art and it’s role in contemporary society.
